Motorhome Accessories

There are many accessories available for motorhomes and campervans and plenty of online stores to choose from. Motorhomes may come with the kitchenette, washroom and living and sleeping spaces fully equipped, but there are plenty of extras available for purchase. The most obvious extra equipment required for a motorhome is cutlery, crockery and other cooking materials. The built-in hob and oven are great, but you will need a saucepan and oven tray before you can plan to use them. You may already have a saucepan that is surplus to your collection at home; it is ok to use standard cooking utensils in a motorhome, but due to the space available, you may benefit from purchasing a special set. That way, you can leave the kitchen cupboards stocked at all times, even when not using the motorhome. Melamine plates and cups are great motorhome accessories as they are lightweight and difficult to break. Many motorhomes come with awnings, extending the living space to the exterior of the motorhome and providing glorious shade on a hot and sunny day. The ideal accompanying motorhome accessory to the awning is a set of camping chairs and a table. These ingenious pieces of furniture are lightweight and fold up neatly to allow them to be stowed away in the lockable motorhome garage. Fancy extras such as wine coolers and anti-insect candles can also be purchased and used outside a motorhome.

Bicycles are useful accessories to add to any motorhome. Many motorhome owners and hirers already own bicycles, and by using a bike rack (sometimes called a cycle rack or bicycle rack), up to 4 bikes can be transported on the back of a motorhome. While most models will have lots of interior storage space, garages are easily damage by bicycles as they move around during transit. Therefore, it is most sensible to carry bikes on a rack attached to the rear of the motorhome. Both bicycles and bicycle racks can be purchased from selected motorhome accessory outlets.

Accessories for motorhomes needn't be obvious. For example, Field & Trek is an outdoor clothing and equipment superstore that operates online and has shops in cities and towns across the UK. Field & Trek stocks hiking boots, umbrellas and outdoor coats that may be suitable for motorhome users who are not afraid of the great outdoors. Another random store is Kodiak Outback, an online store from the US, speculating in recreation equipment, including camping supplies and inflatable boats. There are some delightful campsites across the UK that are situated near lakes and rivers, so carrying an inflatable boat in the motorhome garage is ideal for further adventures while on a motorhome tour.
